Truly Independent, a company which provides expert financial advice on pensions, investments, protection and mortgages, have received four nominations in this years Professional Adviser’s Women in Financial Advice Awards.

Truly Independent was founded in 2010, and say that they are strong believers that everyone should have access to financial advice that is not governed or influenced by others.

The awards were founded to celebrate the achievements of women working within the financial advice community and also the financial services sectors that work to provide solutions for their clients.

The awards' website mention: "These awards are not about men versus women or whether a particular gender is more suited to a career or role in financial services - they are simply about celebrating and recognising the achievements of women in a sector where they continue to be under represented.

The nominations included three of their Independent Financial Advisers: Jane Williams, Emily Davies and Mary Hemingway.

Winning awards is nothing new to Mary Hemingway however, who was also awarded Unbiased’s Financial Adviser of the Year at the Unbiased Trusted Professional Awards 2020.

The fourth nomination was Truly Independent Director, Katie Brinsden, who has been with the firm for almost 10 years. Katie was new to financial services when she first joined Truly Independent and has worked her way up through the company to recently becoming a Director.

Upon receiving the nomination Katie said: “It’s a real honour to be nominated for the award and it’s great to see the other ladies nominated too.

This highlights just how supportive we are as a company for encouraging women in financial services.

Now in their 4th year, the awards are designed to celebrate the achievements of women working within the financial advice community and also the broader financial services sector in the UK.

The winners of the various awards will be announced at a special gala ceremony in London on 7 October 2021.
