THE High Sheriff of Cumbria has made a very special visit to a smaller business in Carlisle yesterday.

The business, ICan Health and Fitness CIC, is a fitness and emotional wellness company in Cumbria.

In a post on their public page, the business said: "The high sheriff honoured us with a very special requested visit and our fabulous group of young families, who have just completed a twelve-week emotional resilience and health education programme were given their achievement medals, completion certificates and very own ICan Wheels of Wellness bounce sessoin.

The whole ICan team pulled together and the ICan family of members supported so much with food provision, decorative skills, cushion making, lamp craft workshops and so much more!

Lisa Dykes, the co-managing director at ICan, said: "The High Sheriff heard of the work we do and he asked to come round and we were very lucky that he requested a visit.

"He stayed from 10:30am to 5:30pm, and got to see all of our facility."

"He managed to meet several beneficiaries and some children from Cumbria Family Support who completed their twelve eek emotional resilience programme and had a bounce on the trampolines."

On the subject of what the company offers, Lisa said: "Our motto is breaking down barriers, from I can't to I can.

"We have a female fitness facility for people who might not go to typical gyms.

"Our place is very small, and everyone has a circuit coach with them."

The company also offers mental health support, and say that they attempt prevention before crisis support.
