A shoplifter stole goods worth more than £1,000 on two consecutive days after travelling to Carlisle from the North East, magistrates heard.
Natasha Waddle, 30, committed the thefts at the Tesco store in Warwick Road.
She pleaded guilty to thefts on Monday, April 19, and then again on April 20 at the same store.
Magistrates sitting at the city’s Rickergate court heard that the value of the goods taken in the first shoplifting expedition was £361.
On the second day, the defendant stole goods worth £659.
Court records did not specify what items were taken.
After hearing details, and representations from the defendant’s solicitor, magistrates ruled that Waddle’s case should be sent to South Northumbria Magistrates’ Court so that she can be sentenced there.
In the meantime, they imposed a bail condition – including one that Waddle is now banned from entering Cumbria.
She will be sentenced at a later date – not specified in the court record – at South Shields Magistrates' Court.
