Tourism is recovering slowly from the impact of Covid-19 according to the VisitBritain agency.

The UK tourism sector will be worth £51.4 billion in 2021, according to forecasts by the agency, a drop from £91.6 billion two years earlier.

VisitBritain predicts that spending by foreign tourists in the UK will be £6.2 billion, lower than the £28.4 billion seen in 2019.

UK tourism chiefs held a summit yesterday to discuss the state of the industry.
