A GROUP of teenagers were caught with a blade in Carlisle say police.

The incident happened at lunchtime in St James' Park on Saturday.

A spokesman for Cumbria Constabulary said: "We were contacted at 1.12pm on May 15 to a report of an incident at St James’ Park.

"It was reported that around six boys described as aged between 14 and 16 were in the wooded area of the park and one of the boys had a knife in his possession.

"When an officer attended, all six boys were detained.

"After a search, officers found a small blade from one of the boys.

"They were taken home and spoken to.

"The blade was taken for destruction."

The incident follows an attack on May 13 by three youths on a 13-year-old boy at the city's Hammond's Pond
