Firefighters were called to action after reports of a fire in the open.
A crew from Carlisle East Station, who are based on Eastern Way, were call to the Gillford Park area of Petteril Bank at about 10pm on Wednesday.
Crews used water packs to extinguish the small fire in the open.
They were in attendance for about 15 minutes while they made the area safe.
