Police have arrested a teenager on suspicion of robbery.

Officers have since launched an investigation after a 15-year-old boy from Carlisle was attacked by a group who tried to steal his bike.

The incident happened at 5.45pm on May 1 at Holme Head Bay, Denton Holme.

A spokesman for the police said: “It was reported that a 15-year-old boy, from Carlisle, was attacked by a group of two to three males.

“He sustained injuries to his face and head.

“A 13-year-old boy, from Carlisle, was arrested on suspicion of robbery and later released under investigation.

“Police are particularly interested in talking to two unknown females who attempted to prevent the assault – and would encourage them to contact officers.”
