Allerdale Council is clamping down on irresponsible dog owners who fail to clean up after their pets.
The council’s enforcement officers are out and about across the borough each day and are taking a zero-tolerance approach to people who do not clean up after their dogs.
The patrols were out in Allonby last week where they took the opportunity to lay down some new stencils on the cycle path.
A spokesman for Allerdale Council said: “We know that most people always pick up their dog’s poo.
“However, as some don’t, it’s important we know about incidents so we can keep our communities clean.”
People are being encouraged to report dog mess via the council’s online service.
Once registered, users can report problems 24 hours a day, seven days a week, through the website or by downloading the free myAllerdale app.
