After weeks of dry and warm weather in Cumbria the tables have well and truly turned.

May is normally a month of warm weather and the odd shower however on the tail of a global pandemic it would appear mother nature is now throwing us a curve ball.

Victoria Armstrong was shocked when she saw all the show and said: "It's a good job I didn’t take my snow tyres off yet!

"It was forecast and has snowed on and off for the couple of days, but we didn’t expect it to lie like it has."

But there is to be more showery weather with a mixture of sunny spells, and scattered showers, occasionally heavy. It will remain cold overnight with another widespread frost.

Looking at next week it will remain unsettled with spells of rain or showers especially across northern hills. Showers in the north accompanied with the risk of hail and thunder. Winds fresh to strong across much of the UK.
