A CREW from the RNLI Silloth Lifeboat Station have been called out to rescue a fisherman.
The team got the alert at 1.48pm today and the boat was launched at 1.54pm.
They were able to reach the scene by 2.05pm.
A RNLI spokeswoman said: "The casualty was in the water about 400 yards off Southerness [Dumfries & Galloway] beach.
"He was suffering from severe hypothermia.
"He was confused and had been in the water for some time.
"One of the crew members went into the water to rescue him.
"The team rescued him and then took him to Southerness beach.
"Two crew members are with him while an ambulance arrives."
It is believed that the man was cut off by the tide.
