Residents are being reminded about two energy efficiency schemes on offer.

Eden District Council offers two different schemes, as part of its mission to tackle energy inefficient homes and help people to be warm and well at home. However, people are being advised to be vigilant and avoid falling prey to potential scammers.

An Eden Council spokesman said: “Those installers operating within the Eden district include: 0800 Repair; All Seasons Interiors; Dyson Energy Solutions; DM Development (Inskip); Karnheath; Live Manage Facilitate; Skilled Force; Thrift Energy; Union Technical Services; and Warm Front.

“Eden District Council can only vouch for these installers.

“In addition, these installers are required not to ‘cold call’ on Eden residents, so if you are approached by any of them, please advise the council by calling 01768 212490.

“If you are approached by an installer not included on this list, or are concerned about a potential hoax call, please inform Trading Standards at trading.standards@cumbria.gov.uk.”

Eden’s Green Homes Grant scheme can provide Eden households with funding of up to £10,000 for a range of energy saving measures.

The scheme is funded by Central Government, and the Council is working in partnership with E.ON to deliver it locally.

Furthermore, Eden’s ECO Flex scheme offers some measures, over and above those of Eden’s GHG scheme. The ECO Flex scheme may be able to help if you are a private renter and therefore unable to access Eden’s Green Homes Grant.
