Today in Bridge Street carpark, I returned to find my car would not start due to a flat battery.
I am 73 years old and was distraught, unable to think what to do.
A man (with his family) in a nearby car was so kind and helpful and jump started my car from his own.
He then followed me round to the rear of Morrisons’ petrol station and kept an eye on my unlocked car while I returned the jump leads lent to me by a lovely young man behind the counter, who would have come to start the car but for the fact that he was alone in the shop.
I cannot thank both these people enough, both strangers to me.
We hear plenty about selfish behaviour in these difficult times, but this as it has restored my faith in human nature.
There are many kind, unselfish people out there and I have met two of them in one day.
Many, many thanks.
