POLICE and fire crews were at an incident in Carlisle.
It is currently being dealt with on Church Street, next to the Joiners Arms pub, and involved a traffic collision on the eastbound carriageway.
It is understood to be causing lengthy traffic tailbacks.
A spokesman for Cumbria Constabulary said: "Police were contacted at 2.28pm today to a report of a collision on Church Street, Carlisle.
"Involved in the collision was a Honda Insight and a Peugeot van.
"Both drivers attended Carlisle Infirmary with injuries believed to be minor.
The road was closed whilst recovery took place and emergency services attended the scene."
A spokesman for the North West Ambulance Service said: "We’ve taken two patients to hospital with potential chest injuries."
