Two areas in Cumbria have ranked as some of the cheapest rural areas to buy a property.

Allerdale and Copeland have ranked within the top 10 cheapest areas across the country to buy a home.

New research reveals the cheapest and most expensive rural areas to buy a house and Copeland is one of the cheapest, with an average house price of £136,378.

The 2021 Rural Property Report by Coulters Property reveals the areas with the biggest five-year price increase, the most expensive (and affordable) areas, as well as comparing the average rural property price against the average urban property price.

Copeland ranked second as being the most affordable rural area to live in, with the average house being priced at £136, 378.

The district of Copeland in West Cumbria is the second most affordable country location to buy a home, with property prices averaging at £136,378.

Copeland is predominantly rural in nature as two-thirds of the area is situated within the Lake District National Park. The area is home to towns such as Whitehaven, Muncaster and St. Bees.

Allerdale ranked fifth on the list with houses priced at £167,962.
