Our photo selection today looks back at concerts and shows performed by local Brownie and Guide companies.
Back in 1981, the girls of the 5th Carlisle (St James) Guide company put on a show to entertain an audience at the Adult Training Centre, Kingstown. Clare Ross and Caroline Bell gave their impression of the popular comic duo Cannon and Ball.
And almost 50 years ago, the girls of the St Barnabas Church Guide and Brownie company joined together to put on a show named Farmyard Frolics with song, dance and sketches.
In the same year in West Cumbria Brownie packs from Ennerdale, Mirehouse, Moresby, Seascale and Whitehaven took part in the West Cumberland Girl Guide Division’s “Brownie Revels” competition held in Whitehaven college.
The programme included a play of the Brownies’ own choice, a tourney of four games , an action or singing game involving the whole pack and a demonstration of knowledge of Brownies in other countries as depicted in the Brownie ‘Friendship badge’.
