Cumbria Police encouraged drivers to 'look out for motorcyclists' by thinking 'more about the person riding the motorcycle.'
The force also urged motorcyclists to 'take steps' and manage their safety by wearing appropriate safety gear and undergo further training.
A Cumbria Constabulary spokesman said: "Drivers are encouraged to look out for motorcyclists on our roads by thinking more about the person riding the motorcycle.
"We also encourage motorcyclists to take steps to manage and reduce their own safety by wearing appropriate safety gear and taking up further training."
