Vehicle owners will be pleased to hear a brand new MOT test station opening in Workington.

Situated at Allerdale Borough Council’s depot on Solway Road, the service carried out its first tests on 16 March on a vehicle from the local J&J Electrical Group and is now open for use by residents and businesses alike.

Speaking on the launch, Charles Holmes, managing director of AWS, said: “I’m really pleased to be able to launch this new MOT service to residents and business owners.

AWS MOTor Services will be providing customers with an excellent service at a great price. I’m really looking forward to taking our first bookings, and establishing a loyal customer base.”

Also on site to see the first test carried out was Leader of the Council, Cllr Mike Johnson. Speaking on the launch, Cllr Johnson said:

“It’s great that AWS has been able to launch this service and to see the first vehicles on the ramps. Not only does this provide a new quality service to local residents andbusinesses, but it also makes full use of the facilities available on site, creating local employment and bringing AWS a valuable income stream.”

The new MOT service is provided by AWS MOTor Services Ltd. The site is open 9am-4pm Monday to Friday and customers can either leave their vehicle for collection later, or use on-site facilities to wait while the test is completed.
