A Penrith school are planning a 'digital detox'.

Yanwath became part of Cumbria Education Trust in 2018.

Staff at the school join together with eight other primaries across the county to provide children with a tailored curriculum that enables them to become the best that they can be. The trust believes that schools are stronger when they work together and sharing best practice across its primaries and secondaries is part of everyday life.

Yanwath is a one form entry school with a school-based Nursery where children can start the term after their third birthday.

Yanwath offers a range of extracurricular clubs and wrap around care from 8am until 5.15pm. The children play a huge part in determining the after-school clubs so that we maximise their interests and opportunities.

These clubs are often run by staff members, but we also have some specialist teachers too. As well as after school clubs we also have music teachers who provide one-to-one tuition within lesson times for children.

While we are extremely proud of the provision we have provided for children while they have been at home, we are counting down the minutes until we can start our school ‘digital detox’ and really launch our outdoor learning for 2021.

We will be hosting an exhibition in Penrith during the summer term to showcase the amazing work completed on return to school.
