THE INSTALLATION of four speed indicator devices on Longtown roads has been delayed, says the parish council.

The issue was discussed at a Arthuret council meeting earlier this month.
In November councillors agreed for the devices to be installed on Moor Road, Netherby Road, the A6071 and the Carlisle Road.
In an update however, Karen Johnson, parish clerk, said the county council will discuss the issue with Connect Roads, a private sector roads operator, in a meeting scheduled for yesterday (Thursday).
She said: "Nothing can be done until Connect Roads get in contact, as soon as everything's been agreed we can progress that."
She added that a county council official had been trying to "chase them up for two months trying to get them - we haven't had any luck".
In November vice chairman councillor Gordon Routledge berated the county council saying: "There is a lot of disappointment in the community especially along the Carlisle Road that they don't appear to want to support this initiative. We can't see any reason why this shouldn't be given the go-ahead."
