Changes have been agreed to traffic regulations along two roads in Penrith.

Cumbria County Council's local committee for Eden, made up of councillors representing the area, agreed last week to the removal of a single one hour disc parking bay on the north side of Portland Place.

They agreed to replace this with a "no waiting at any time" restriction instead.

This has been put in place to allow the easier passage of vehicles along Portland Place.

It was also agreed to introduce a "no waiting at any time" restriction on the north-west side of Inglewood Road, from its junction with Salkeld Road in a southerly direction.

This has also been put in place to allow for easier passage of vehicles along the road.

Members of the committee also agreed to a prohibition of driving restriction at the junction of Inglewood Road and Scotland Road, in order to improve road safety.
