Customers of Morrisons and Co-op are being asked to use cash as the supermarket giants have been hit by technical issues.
A problem affecting ACI Worldwide's card payment system means that shoppers at Morrisons and Co-op are being urged to use cash.
ACI has said it is working as quickly as possible with IT teams at both partners to fix the issue.
Contactless card payments have been the preferred method for many during the Covid-19 pandemic. A spokesperson for the Co-op has apologised for the inconvenience it may cause.
