As the county is batter by rain and show the county council have been for to say sorry for the work on Solway Street.

In an update from Cumbria County Council regarding highway works on Solway Street, Silloth.

They said: ""Weather permitting, the works on Solway Street are due to be completed. There are no plans to do any further full depth carriageway reconstruction work on Solway Street during this or the following financial year.

"We will be doing some temporary patching works on the remainder of the street, but please be assured that this will not involve any in-depth excavation or heavy duty compaction.

"The work is simply a mastic asphalt that is used on the road surface to improve the surface and reduce potholes and cracks in the carriageway surface.

"Prior to the works starting on Solway Street advanced roadworks boards went out informing road users of the upcoming works. In addition letter drops were done by CCC and our appointed contractor to properties within the work area.

"The letters detailed who and how to contact CCC if required. I apologise if some residents did not receive letters as intended.

"For reference details of all highway works (CCC and utility companies) can be found on the following website http://one.network/uk.

"Alternatively residents can phone 0300 303 2992 and a member of staff will log the issue on their behalf. "Any issues raised will then be directed to the relevant local member of staff for action."
