A RANGE of free courses are available to help families that are struggling with lockdown learning.
'Free, friendly and fun' family learning courses, from the Family Learning Team - part of Community Learning and Skills, will help guide parents through children's schoolwork, suggest home-schooling ideas or ways to brush up on maths and English skills.
They said: "Lockdown means home-schooling is back, but help is at hand for parents and families in Cumbria."
One parent said: “It was good to meet the tutor first and find out about what to expect. You get sent a link, so I logged on and was surprised, as I recognised a couple of other parents and I soon got to know the others. The tutor was really friendly and understanding. We were all a bit nervous about using Zoom - it’s free too, so you don’t need to buy anything. It is quite easy and they give you lots of help.”
