Police in Dumfries and Galloway have encouraged any witnesses to come forward who may be able to provide them with information on a man who was attempting to sell televisions out of his van.

The Dumfries and Galloway Police Division explained in a statement that the force is encouraging anyone who may be able to assist them with their enquiries to come forward.

"Police are appealing for witnesses after a male was seen to be attempting to sell televisions from within his vehicle," the statement read.

The vehicle was described as a white Ford Transit Connect, with the registration number YJ63 XYA.

The man was seen in the Gretna area.

"If you saw or heard of someone in the local area between those times or if you were offered a television, we would like to hear from you," the statement continued.

"If you have any information, please contact 101 and ask to speak to PC Wayne Irving at Lockerbie".

Anyone who does contact police on this matter is asked to quote reference number 1415 of January 12 2021.
