Thousands has been raised to help Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland through a special online auction.

The charity would like to thank all supporters of the Gifts for Giving Online Auction held in the lead up to Christmas.

The virtual event has been a great success, and this could not have been possible without the generosity of charity supporters who donated items for the catalogue.

The range of prizes extended from vouchers, to experiences, luxury hampers to handmade items, and there was a great array of festive items on offer too.

More than 244 items were kindly gifted and have collectively raised £6,225 for Hospice at Home – an amazing total that exceeded the charity’s expectations.

Happy with the support they received, Cath Coates, fundraiser for Hospice at Home said: “The charity has been simply overwhelmed by the support and kindness shown once more to this fundraising initiative.

“We have held two online auctions during 2020 which have raised over £12,000 combined.

“This phenomenal sum will provide many hours of vital care and support to patients and their families at a difficult and devastating time.

“The future of fundraising is still uncertain and while we look forward to the days of face-to-face events returning, we feel virtual fundraisers will still have a place in our 2021 calendar.

“Please keep an eye on our website, www.hospiceathome.co.uk and social media pages for announcements of our next events and if you are able to support them, it would be most appreciated.”
