The John Peel Theatre has shared details of its refurbishment work, which has been ongoing throughout 2020.
New toilet cubicles have been built, and most of the plumbing is now in place.
The work in the auditorium includes a new "sound stage" being fitted, which means the venue will be able to cater for full choirs and sound will be heard clearly from every part of the theatre.
Other work sees the installation of a new hearing loop, which has also been extended into the foyer and the green room too.
New speakers have been installed in the technical area, the green room and all dressing rooms so that cast and crew can hear what's going on on stage.
New moving head lights are soon to be installed, extending the range of special effects to enhance the theatrical experience.
Real focus has been put on the work this year.
