A CAR wash cafe has now opened its doors for the first time.

Motorists are able to get their car washed at the former Enterprise car hire site in Caldewgate and then drive off with a coffee and doughnut.

The concept is being brought to the city by husband and wife team Richard and Sarah Miller and Bruce Brown and Luke Jackson from Bruce and Luke's.

Luke Jackson, of Bruce and Luke's, said: "We've got two new business partners in this, Richard and Sarah Miller, they purchased the site and were going to put a car wash on it.

"It was through a friend that they suggested opening and coffee shop and obviously Bruce and Luke's we want to open a lot more coffee shops.

"The site would have been under utilised as a car wash so we thought why not give it a go as a drive-thru coffee and doughnut aspect as well as a car wash."

Although there have been some set backs, the team has been able to move forward and were able to open this week.

"There's definitely been set backs, but a lot of that was just not being able to get materials," added Luke.

"There was loads of things that got in the way because of Covid, but it wasn't the lockdowns that stopped it. It was the materials and sourcing that got in the way."

The team are feeling great now they're able to open and get things moving.

Luke said: "We feel great, we've opened three stores in the pandemic stores, so we're getting kind of used to opening things.

"So we've only opened the coffee and doughnut aspect of it at first to get the guys used to it and then we'll be opening the other aspects next week.

"It's a new team and we've not done the headset side of things so we want to get comfortable with that.

"We want to make sure it's an enjoyable service."
