FIREFIGHTERS from Carlisle and Brampton successfully stopped a garage fire from spreading to a house.
Crews from Carlisle East, Carlisle West and Brampton were called out at 5.15pm yesterday to the blaze at Burnrigg, Heads Nook.
When they arrived, the found a well-developed fire in a garage which attached to a house.
The fire had already spread to the garage roof and the teams fought the blaze using six firefighters in breathing apparatus, equipped with hosereels, ladders, thermal imaging cameras, and small tools.
In a Facebook post today, the Carlisle East crew said: "A great intervention has stopped the fire spreading to the attached house."
Crews were today still at the scene damping down hotspots.
