Firefighters in Carlisle responded to a blaze last night that they believe to have been suspicious in origins.
A crew from Carlisle east fire station was called to a fire at Cumwhinton Gardens at about 6pm yesterday evening.
A spokesman for the station explained: "On arrival, crews discovered a large wheelie bin inside a compound was well alight, and extinguished the blaze using a hosereel.
"The cause of the blaze is believed to be suspicious, and it is another example of our resources being tied up unnecessarily, when someone truly in distress could need our help somewhere else."
