PLANS to convert a barn into a home have been given the green light.
Eden District Council on Wednesday approved plans for the change of use for the barn, adjacent to Chellow Cottage in Colby, Appleby.
The application has been submitted by agents Miller Clear Architects.
Proposals include the: "Conversion of stone barn within the curtilage of an existing dwelling to provide a new self-contained dwelling" in the 136sqm site.
One of the council's provisos is "should any bats or evidence of bats be found prior to or during the development, work must stop immediately"
A prior survey however found no evidence of bat or owl activity in the barn.
