PROPOSALS to build three homes in Carlisle have been give the go-ahead.

The city council on Friday gave the green-light to plans for the three terraced homes on vacant land at the corner of Leabourne Road and Buchanan Road.

The applicant is Marcus Jefferson, who lists his address as Beck Road.

Consent had previously been granted for a similar proposal but had expired.

According to supporting documentation: "The dwelling’s will be faced with brickwork at ground floor level and self coloured render at first floor level.

"Fencing between the units to the rear and to the west facing boundary will be 2m high close boarded timber fencing.

"Each dwelling will be accessed directly from Buchanan Road and will have two parking places.

"The roofs will be hipped to match the local vernacular and covered with plain concrete roof tiles with dark grey mechanically fixed Sandtoft dry ridge."

The council said construction should be undertaken within three years of approval before approval expires.
