Maryport’s Settlement has started showing monthly films.
Spokeswoman Linda Wyatt said this could become a regular event unless any further lockdown restrictions are imposed.
“We are showing feelgood movies to give people a break and to remind them that the Settlement is here,” she said.
The next film is on Thursday, November 5. It is Blinded by the Light, the story of a young Pakistani boy living in Thatcherite Britain whose life is changed when he discovers the music of Bruce Springsteen.
Bookings are essential and people are asked to bring their own refreshments and utensils.
The Settlement’s annual art exhibition will be held on November 20 to 22. The emphasis this year is on arts and crafts, to sell as early Christmas presents, for instance.
Booking is not necessary but full Covid precautions will be taken which means only so many people would be allowed in at any one time and the artists will not be present.
