A Cockermouth woman is putting her talents to good use by creating and selling ribbon poppies to raise money for the Royal British Legion.
Lindsey Thomas said: "When we went into lockdown I had blue ribbon left and thought I could make some bows for the NHS. Three weeks later I had raised £2,700 with the rainbow bows, so then I made red, white and blue ones for VE day and raised about £2,000 for Age Concern West Cumbria.
Now I thought I could make some for poppy day."
The red black and green poppies take Lindsey and her team of six helpers 10 minutes each to make, as they are done in three sections.
The Remembrance Ribbons cost £3 each, with money going to the Royal British Legion. They are available from Slatefell Store and Ferns, both in Cockermouth and at Broughton Bakehouse, Great Broughton.

Lindsey said she is hoping to raise around £1,000 from the sale of the poppies.
Some of the poppies have been given out free to veterans.
