MAGISTRATES have imposed a six month curfew on a Carlisle man who admitted going equipped for theft.

James Alexander Bell, 47, of Richmond Green, Morton West, was caught with a ‘lock-picking set,’ and a screwdriver, on October 10 in Carlisle, the city’s Rickergate court heard.

He also pleaded guilty to handling stolen goods - mountain bike and a chain saw - on the same day.

His curfew - part of a community order - will be electronically monitored and will run from 7pm to 7am every day, said magistrates.

He was also ordered to pay £85 prosecution costs and a £95 victim surcharge.
