A colourful knitted bus hit the streets of Cumbria on Thursday and stopped in Bowness as part of a campaign to raise money for a befriending service.
The People's Friend organisation dressed up a Stagecoach bus with colourful knitwork for the tour of the region, which was designed to make sure the older generation realise they haven't been forgotten in the pandemic.
The bus visited a number of places, including Bowness and Kendal, and dropped of magazines and knitted bunting to care homes, following a clamp down on visitors due to Covid measures. Angela Gilchrist, editorial director of The People’s Friend, said: “Our colourful bus was sure to brighten the day of anyone who saw it. And I believe it sends a message of hope, too, that even when times are tough, we can all share moments of joy.”
