ELVIS Presley has entered the building – and helped an eager fundraiser raise £1,000 for a worthy cause.

Dominic Todd has received £1,000 from the Geoff Brown Charitable Trust for his cause Smile For Miley, which he opened in memory of his 10-year-old daughter who died in 2018.

The donation was made possible by a fundraising night of entertainment organised by Mr Brown with a top Elvis impersonator.

Carlisle business owner Mr Brown spends his spare time organising fundraisers to support worthy causes just like Smile For Miley. “This is my hobby," he said.

Funds raised by Smile For Miley will be donated to the teams that supported her family in their time of need. Dominic’s son Jake said: “Most of the money we make goes to The Sick Children’s Trust where my mum and dad stayed when Miley was in hospital. We’re also trying to help out local families.”

Earlier this month around 50 volunteers took part in The Great North West Coast Run to raise vital funds for charity.

Jake said: “It was a really good day, everyone enjoyed it.”
