Police are appealing for witnesses following reports of a disability-aggravated hate crime.

The incident took place on the bottom of Scotch Street, Carlisle, leading on to West Tower Street.

At about 6.20pm on September 5, two men verbally abused two women in their 40s.

One of the men is described as 6ft 4in, stocky build, with short, dark brown hair.

The other is about 5ft 6in, slim, with short, curly black hair.

Officers are urging witnesses to come forward with any information that could help with the investigation.
