A BATHS trust is giving people the opportunity to get involved by offering live-saving training courses.
Wigton Baths has made a number of pleas in the last few weeks which include appealing for people to join the committee after the current chairman has had to step down as a result of ill health.
The centre is encouraging people to join in and take part in a lifeguard course.
A spokesman said: “Can you swim 50 metres in less than 60 seconds, swim 100 metres continuously on front and back in deep water, tread water for 30 seconds, jump or dive into deep water, surface dive to the pool floor and are over the age of 16 years on October 25?
“Why not join the lifeguard course at Wigton Baths?”
All the course strictly adheres to RLSS Covid-19 policies and procedures.
Lifeguards benefit from varied working hours which people can easily fit around their other commitments, working within a team.
There is also the opportunity to progress a career within the leisure industry as most leisure managers start off as pool lifeguards.
