Cumbria Wildlife Trust is running a competition for budding wildlife photographers.
The trust is looking for young photographers aged five to 15 to submit pictures of pollinating insects on flowers.
The Get Cumbria Buzzing contest could land young entrants a year’s membership of the trust and a wildlife photographer of the year book.
Camera shots of insect pollinators such as bees, butterflies, moths, beetles and hoverflies feeding on flowers, together with the child’s name and age, should be sent in to them at: lucy.g.@cumbriawildlifetrust.org.uk by midnight on October 4.
The competition is divided into three age groups: five to eight; nine to 11 and young people aged 12 to 15.
Prizes for first place include a year’s subscription of Cumbria Wildlife Trust’s Wildlife Watch, which includes a magazine four times a year, posters, stickers and wildlife handbook. Winners will also get a wildlife photographer of the year book and runners up for each age category will get a pollinator goody bag.
