POLICE have issued a warning after multiple incidents where drivers were flagged down and asked for money.

Officers say one vehicle involved has been seized but another remains at large.

Dumfries Galloway Police Division put out the alert after incidents in Gretna, Kirkpatrick Fleming and Eaglesfield.

A police spokesman said: “We are aware of motorists being flagged down by persons who are claiming that their car has broken down and subsequently they are asking for money.

“Officers have seized one of the vehicles suspected to be involved however a Blue Volkswagen Passat displaying a foreign registration plate remains outstanding.”
