Police were called after concerns were raised for the welfare of a man.
In the early hours of Tuesday morning and man was found on St Martins Drive, Brampton with a wound to his leg.
The 29-year-old from Lancashire is believe to have been injured with a 'sharp implement'
A spokesman for the police said: "We were called to St Martins Drive, Brampton, at 1.11am Tuesday following concern for the welfare of a man in the street.
"The man, 29, of Lancashire, had suffered an injury to his leg, suspected to have been caused by a sharp implement.
"Two people – a woman, 34, of Brampton, and a man, 25, of Carlisle – were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
"The woman was released under investigation and the man was bailed pending further inquiries."
