A VILLAGE library is set to open its doors again from next week.

On August 15, Gosforth Library Link will be open to the public for the first time since lockdown, with safety measures and time restrictions in place to keep visitors and staff comfortable and protected.

Opening for just two hours every Saturday, between 10am and midday, the library has a hand-sanitiser station and register in place, with visitors asked to leave their name and contact details for track-and-trace purposes.

A one-way system is also being introduced, and for safety reasons library users are not able to handle books and put them back on shelves, but instead must either check the book out or place it in a box near the exit to be sanitised.

Sharing the news on social media, library staff said: “We hope you understand the need for these restrictions and understand that we will extend our service as soon as we can.

“We all look forward to seeing you in our library again.”
