We're dipping a toe into 1973 for today's delve in the picture archives.
It was the year the UK entered the European Economic Community (forerunner of the EU), when British Leyland launched the Austin Allegro and when Sunderland AFC beat Leeds United 1-0 in the FA Cup final at Wembley.
On the home front we thought we'd look at how some Carlisle streets have changed since 1973 – and it's mainly the traffic flow.
