A NEW councillor has been co-opted to sit on Brampton Parish Council.
Sharon Angland was unanimously accepted at an online meeting on Tuesday evening.
Councillor Jenni Errington, council chairman, said: "Well we have Sharon who would like to be co-opted, we went through her application form, it is very good and we are very excited."
Councillor John Harding also said he was "very excited about the application".
Councillor Angland she was very pleased and took part in a number of discussions during the meeting.
This included subjects ranging from planning applications and council finances.
Co-option is the process by which council vacancies are filled as an agenda item within a monthly Parish Council meeting if elections can't be held.
In March the Government announced that there would be no local elections for a year, to May 2021, due to the impact of the coronavirus
At a previous online meeting on June 30 the draft minutes stated that there were four position to fill on the council.
Fiona Macleod had also been unanimously co-opted as a councillor.
The next meeting of the parish council is scheduled for September 29 - there is no meeting in August.
