A West Cumbria beauty salon – which has served customers for 30 years – has announced it was closing on the day the Government allowed those businesses to reopen.

One 2 One, on Main Street in Egremont, made the announcement on Monday, as other salons were reopening their doors to customers.

The owners said it was due to the impact of coronavirus.

A post on the shop’s Facebook page said: “This is a very sad announcement.

“Due to the impact of Covid-19, One 2 One will be permanently closing its doors.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank both staff and customers, past and present, who have supported this business over the last 30 years.

“I wish my staff all the best for the future and hope that everyone stays safe and well.

“For those of you holding valid gift vouchers, I would encourage you to spend them on products.

“The salon will be open on Mondays from 11am to 1pm to enable you to come in and choose products that you wish to spend your vouchers on.

“Clients will be allowed in on a one-by-one basis and masks must be worn.

“Hand sanitiser will also be available upon entry.

“Once again, I am sorry to have to make this announcement.

“I hope that you will understand the difficulties involved in making this decision.”

More than 50 clients took to social media to express their sadness at the closure.

Rachel Crayston said: “Gutted is an understatement, it must have been a very hard decision.

“I will miss you all, I wish you all the best for the future and thank you for all you have done for me.” Claire Louise Crayston added: “I’m really sorry to hear this.

“Thank you very much for all the treatments you did and I wish all the best to you and all your staff.”
