A sex offender who failed to tell police he had resided at a different address has been given a curfew.
Mark Kelly, 39, of Fern Court in Whitehaven, appeared at the magistrates court in Workington on Friday.
He admitted failing to notify the police within three days, without a reasonable excuse, of having resided at an additional address not known to police, for more than seven days in a 12 month period. The court heard the offence happened on or before January 30 in Workington.
The notification is compulsory as Kelly is a relevant offender within the terms of section 80 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003. Kelly was ordered to be at his home address between 7pm and 7am every day for 21 days.
He must also pay £90 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.
