A DRIVER who failed to stop for police was injured in a one-car collision shortly afterwards.
Residents on Warwick Road, Carlisle, heard a loud bang and the sound of multiple sirens late on Wednesday night.
A Cumbria Constabulary spokesman said: βAt around 11.30pm a vehicle failed to stop for officers on Warwick Road.
"A short time later the vehicle was involved in a one-vehicle road traffic collision.
βA man in his late 30s suffered minor injuries and was taken to the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle.β
The force confirmed that no arrests had yet been made following the late-night incident.
Several police cars and an ambulance were spotted at the scene by residents.
Police closed the road both ways temporarily to deal with the situation.
