A DRIVER was stopped after travelling more than 100mph on the motorway.
Cumbria Roads Police stopped a vehicle that was travelling at 117mph on the M6 southbound close to junction 41 between Carlisle and Penrith.
On inspection officers found the driver to have a provisional licence and when tested had a reading of 54 for alcohol analysis.
The motorists was arrested and the car has been seized.
