APPROVAL has been given for a caravan holiday park in Appleby.
An application had been made to Eden District Council for the park which aims to accommodate 12 static caravans on pasture land at Langdon Field Farm Park.
According to the design and access statement: "There is a need, locally, to provide holiday homes within this area.
"This application is for the creation of caravan units for people to invest in an affordable holiday home rather than second home ownership in the locality.
"The local economy will benefit from the caravan owners buying local produce,
eating out and visiting other attractions in the area.
"The proposal will retain and safeguard the employment of the landowners.
"It consists of 12 caravans on concrete bases accessed by stone drives."
The applicant is listed as Mr Bell, who's address is situated on site.
