A “PROUD” Whitehaven “lad” has credited his home town as the inspiration behind his new fashion venture.

Cameron Coid plans to take the streetwear market by storm and has designed his own unisex fashion range with a clothing line that includes sweaters to T shirts and various accessories.

The 28-year-old set up the Black Label fashion brand in late 2019 and has seen sales surge ever since.

Despite the lockdown fashionistas have made a beeline to his website and instagram account to snap up his bespoke apparel.

Cameron, who is a fitness trainer by profession, used to work at his dad’s Powerhouse Gym, on the Sneckyeat Road Industrial Estate before moving to Leeds a number of years ago.

Prior to setting up Black Label Cameron was a partner in another clothing brand which was start-up in 2018, however since he decided to go it alone last year.

The former pupil of Whitehaven Secondary School said: “I grew up in Whitehaven and can say that I’m a proud Whitehaven lad and I’ll tell anyone that brand is where I’m from.

“There has been lots of sales and built quite a good following

“The idea behind Black Label is to bring a premium high-quality brand to both men and women at an affordable price.

“Everybody would love to wear designer brands, but most people can’t afford to do so.

“With Black Label we pride ourselves on being high quality from start to finish, from the materials we use for our products, to the designs of our products, and we also pride ourselves on the best customer service we give each and every one of our customers.”
